# Unmerge Reservations

> Separate unrelated reservations that were attached to one contact in the V3 inbox.

Use this guide when unrelated reservations were accidentally attached to the same contact.

## Unmerge from a conversation

1. Open the affected contact in the V3 inbox.
2. At the top of the conversation, select **N Reservations**, where N is the number of reservations attached to the contact.
3. Select **Unmerge Reservations**.
4. Review the confirmation, then select **Unmerge**.

<Warning>
  Unmerging deletes the combined contact and recreates each reservation as an individual contact. Any conversation on the combined contact is detached from every reservation, so reservation information no longer appears in that conversation. This action cannot be undone. Verify the contact and its reservations before confirming.

You can also unmerge from the right sidebar. Under **Other Reservations**, select **Unmerge Reservations**, then confirm **Unmerge**.

## Troubleshooting

* **The unmerge control is missing:** It appears only when a contact has multiple reservations.
* **You cannot complete the action:** You need permission to manage contacts.
* **The separated contacts are not in Todo:** They appear in **Done** after you confirm.
