# Templates and brand kit

> Set your logo, colors and contact details once, then build the portal template guests see: branding, listing details, offers and the page after checkout.

The brand kit holds your logo, name, colors and contact details. A template is the portal guests open: its branding, which listing details show, which offers it sells and what guests see after checkout. Check-in steps come from [verification rules](https://docs.conduit.ai/portals/check-in-steps.md), not the template.

## Brand kit

Go to **Portals > Brand kit**, fill it in and click **Save**. Needs **Manage Portals**.

| Field | What it does |
| - | - |
| **Logo** | JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF or AVIF. Up to 6 colors are pulled from it. Tap one to make it the primary color |
| **Display name** | The business name on portals when the template doesn't set one |
| **Primary color** | Buttons and links |
| **Accent color** | Highlights and savings |
| **Background** | The page behind the cards. Blank keeps an off-white background |
| **Support email**, **Phone**, **Website** | Shown on receipts and submission PDFs. The support email is the reply-to address on receipt emails |

* Templates use the brand kit for every branding field they leave empty
* Brand kit changes reach portals already sent the next time their template is saved. Receipts and submission PDFs always use the current logo and contact details, from the template or else the brand kit

## Create a template

Needs **Manage Portals**.

1. Go to **Portals > Portals** and click **Create portal**. A draft called **Untitled portal** opens in the editor
2. Fill in the **Setup**, **Offers** and **After checkout** tabs
3. Set the status to **Active** in the top bar and click **Save changes**
4. Pick the template in [Defaults](https://docs.conduit.ai/portals/defaults.md#templates)

The **Customer preview** follows the tab you're on, in **Mobile** or **Desktop**. Once the template has an active [custom domain](https://docs.conduit.ai/portals/custom-domains.md), the preview shows it.

### Setup

| Setting | Default | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| **Portal name** | Untitled portal | The template's name in the portal list |
| **Welcome line** | None | The greeting at the top. Takes variables like `{{contact.firstName}}` |
| **Section headers** | Built-in headings | Renames the headings guests see: **Before you arrive**, **Once completed** (Check-in complete), **Details**, **Guides**, **Discover** and, with **Offers on Stay page** on, **Stay page offers** (From your host). Up to 40 characters each. Blank uses the default |
| **Branding** | Brand kit | Brand color, accent color, background, **Theme** (**Light** or **Dark**), business name, logo and contact details for this template only. **Reset** goes back to the brand kit |
| **Hero photo** | **Listing photo** | **Listing photo**, with a **Fallback image** for listings without one, or **Upload your own photo** |
| **Multi-item cart** | On | Guests can pay for several offers in one checkout. Off means one offer per checkout |
| **Offers on Stay page** | On | Shows offers on the Stay page as well as the **Discover** tab |
| **Check-in survey** | Off | Asks for a rating during the stay. See [Reviews](https://docs.conduit.ai/portals/reviews.md#check-in-survey) |
| **Listing details** | All on | Which [portal fields](https://docs.conduit.ai/portals/portal-fields.md) show: Directions, Area guide, Check-in instructions, Check-out instructions, Wi-Fi, Parking, House rules, House manual, Trash and Door code |
| **Payment** | Card, Apple Pay and Google Pay | **Card**, **Apple Pay**, **Google Pay** and **Link by Stripe**. At least one stays on |
| **Offer button label** | Add | The label on offer buttons |

What guests see after paying, and the confirmation message, are set in [Defaults](https://docs.conduit.ai/portals/defaults.md#payments).

### Offers

* **Featured offer** shows first. **Choose featured offer** lists active offers
* **Offer set** holds the rest, grouped by category. Drag to order within a category. Category order comes from **Manage categories** on **Portals > Offers**
* Only active [offers](https://docs.conduit.ai/portals/offers.md) can be added

### After checkout

After checkout, the portal link shows a thank-you page until 30 days after checkout. Cancelled and no-show stays don't get it.

| Setting | Default | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| **Thank-you line** | Thanks for staying, `{{contact.firstName}}` | The heading |
| **Thank-you note** | Off | Adds a **Note** from you under the heading |
| **Ask for a review** | On | Shows the rating card. See [Reviews](https://docs.conduit.ai/portals/reviews.md) |
| **Feedback confirmation** | Thanks for your feedback, `{{contact.firstName}}` | Shown after a guest sends feedback |
| **Show offers** | Off | Shows the offers you add here under **Explore more**. Each offer can be added once |

## Status

The status picker in the editor's top bar has **Draft**, **Active**, **Paused** and **Archived**. A new status applies when you click **Save changes**.

* Only **Active** templates can be the default, a routing target or sent by an agent
* Links already sent keep working whatever the template's status
* **Active** needs every offer on the template to be active, including after-checkout offers
* **Active** also needs a Stripe account with charges enabled when an offer on the template is priced, or when any enabled check-in step in the workspace charges

## Duplicate, archive and delete

From the **⋯** menu on a template in the portal list:

* **Duplicate** makes a draft copy of the template
* **Archive** stops new sends and routing. Links already sent keep working, checkout included. **Restore** brings it back as a draft
* **Delete** only works on templates with no sales, and it deletes every portal link made from the template. Those links stop working

## Changes and portals already sent

Saving a template, archiving or restoring it, or archiving one of its offers updates the template's active portal links within a few minutes. Each link keeps its check-in steps, its listing photo, and any offer the guest bought or the AI agent added to it. See [what reaches portals already sent](https://docs.conduit.ai/portals/test-and-go-live.md#what-reaches-portals-already-sent).
